I believe normal human base size is 1", how do the other sizes scale? Large/Huge/Gargantuan creatures can't still just have a 1" footprint?

Typically, a Large creature would take up about a 2" square area (or equivalent), a Huge one would cover a 3"-4" square area, and Gargantuan ones would likely have a 4" square minimum and go up from there.
