you can get cheap if not free star wars or hero clix minis at flea markets, garage sales and at flgs. _________________ "I'm Hotep" |

And thrift stores
Look for old board games that feature minis
Hero Quest
Dragon Strike
Dark World
Halo
Battle Masters
Lion Heart
Heroscape
D&D Box sets
Weapons and Warriors
And in grab bags loose D&D, Clix, Heroscape, War Hammer and other figures mixed with McDonalds Crap
Also loose and in bags High end rubber animals and dino from schleich and saftai and Papo (and giant fantasy monsters) that scale with what ever scale D&D minis are
Lego Dragons
For set dressing Lego castles and other play set
I'd go on but I have to go and search thrift store and have dinner with Princess Nerdia _________________ http://s61.photobucket.com/albums/h51/Vondan/ |

Today at the thrift store there was a board game with 4 batman minis and 10 mooks of some sort but they wanted the outrageous sum of $3 and my arms were full with the civilization board game for $2, a traveller box set for $1 each and some cool aluminium goblets from King Table Buffet _________________ http://s61.photobucket.com/albums/h51/Vondan/ |

Don't forget dollar stores. You can always pick up a bag of army men. You could use green for the bad guys and tan for the heroes. _________________ My Savage Worlds Blog

Dollar store also gets in bags of army men scale (about 1.32 ) animals and bags oif larger scale insects that I use in games and lately they have been getting in large scale dinos and animals that would be a good sculpt other then the obvious seams and joins

If I were a shameless promotor of Reaper (which I am), I'd say spend $100 and pledge at the Vampire level in their "Bones" Kickstarter. You'll get nearly 200 minis for that price, and they're mostly fantasy. You say you're on a budget, so this might not be possible, but if you can scrounge up $100, this might be all the minis you'll ever need. Maybe you can get a couple friends to split the cost, if you can agree how to split the minis.
Just a thought. |

Reaper does put out some good stuff, but I go to Miniature Market for cheaper prices. _________________
