How is this version different from the Ubiquity version? Obviously it's a different system, but rules-wise or "feel", how is it different? _________________ Wild Card Creator: Any PDF. Any Setting. No Extra Cost.

The feel is the same -- it's a conversion, not a relaunch. Magic is similar, in that you learn a particular art, but there's no build-a-spell system. Instead, you start with every spell in your Art. Fencing styles (separate from school signature moves & edges) are a specialized skill of Fighting.
The biggest change is that the SW version contains most of the Richelieu Guide text, making it a complete setting book. _________________ Wiggy

This is definitely up my alley.
Argh! Too many cool settings and not nearly enough time to run them all! _________________ 'But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.

Most of the Richelieu Guides' historical text is already in the book (French Colonies, Barbary Coast, and Serious Situations aren't), so it's a one book line in that regard. No plans right now to convert the adventures, as they were written for a very specific rule system. There is a chance of new Savage specific adventures in the future, but that depends on how well sales of the core book go.
The Ubiquity version was black and white, and all the original art was ordered in black and white, so there's absolutely no chance of a color version coming out. Since the first printing is softcover, any future printings would be the same. _________________ Wiggy

Hi Wiggy,
Could you provide some more info on the fighting schools and how they transferred over please. |

They weren't so much transferred as written from scratch (in terms of rules). Fencing comes in two forms -- basic style, which anyone can learn as a specialized skill of Fighting, and membership of a school, which requires an Edge.
If you use a style your opponent does not know, you get +1 Fighting against him. If he knows the style (and there are 16 to pick from), whether or not he uses it, the bonus is negated. He knows all the basic moves.
Taking a specific school Edge gets you the school's signature move bonus, and opens up school specific Edges.
For example...
L’Académie du Tarrasque
Style: Tarrasque
Signature Move: The character treats his Strength as one die higher (max. d12+3) for the purposes of inflicting damage.
So anyone can learn Fighting: Tarrasque, but a school member gets a +1 Strength die bonus when inflicting damage. _________________ Wiggy

| Great to see this Wiggy. I am assuming there will not be any hard copies for sale at Gencon correct? I of course bought AFO for Ubiquity last year but I think I would prefer to run it with Savage and was just wondering about a Gencon release. |
