I was thinking this an edge for NE.,

Bastard-Once per session you may steal a benny from another player and must immeadeityly use it.

Magnificent Bastard-Requires Bastard. You can steal a benny from ANYONE including enemy wildcards or the GM once per session.

What you guys think? Should it be a power instead? Too powerful? Should the player get maginificent bastard first to encourage less interparty fighting?

My initial thoughts are that its a bit unfair to penalise another player by taking one of their bennies.

I am more open to the idea of "stealing" a bennie from the GM though.

I think it seems very well suited to Necessary Evil

I think the other PCs would get around to killing the Bastard. Possibly both in and out of character, depending upon the table. #gunbattle Embarassed

Expect a lot of hurt feelings and messiness. Which is what some groups want. Wink

Seems better suited for an adventure card (or whatever that deck is called)

Something like:

"Turn the Tide"
Use this card to take and immediately use a GM beni
Restriction: to use this card, the GM must have a beni

It's a net 2 to the players, so I don't think I would add anything else.

As far as the original idea, I would never use it, but then our group doesn't PVP.

If you really wanted an edge, how about:

"Borrowed Luck"
Once per session you may take another player's spent beni if the original beni use resulted in a failure. (wording needs work)

It might better if it was something like:

"Once per session you can gain an additional benny by screwing over an ally. The benny must be spent before the end of your (next?) turn."

It's purposely vague so that you can agree on what applies (jumping behind another character to avoid getting shot or running ahead of them setting off a trap, but getting past it before it goes off, that kind of thing). But it purposefully doesn't apply a direct mechanical penalty to the other player (i.e. losing a benny).

Bastard
Requirement: Wild Card.
Once per session you can spend a Bennie to cancel a Bennie spent by one of the players but it also eliminates a Bennie from the GM.

If it's particularily mean you might earn a Bennie for being a Right Bastard.

Dirty Rotten Bastard
Requirement: Bastard, Seasoned, Wild Card.

As Bastard but provides an additional use.

Going on a bit of a tangent, I once wrote up an Edge called You Bastard! which was completely different in tone. The effect was that you gain a +2 to all combat skill and damage rolls against a foe who has Incapacitated one of your allies.

Was the ally named Kenny?
