So in a game I'm playing in currently we have a snake oil salesman and a Scientist with super high repair (me) who happens to have a conastoga wagon that will hopefully be a pretty sweet mobile workshop if it doesn't get burned to the ground or stolen in the interim.
The two of us kind of organically teamed up to sell my repair skills to a crowd of townsfolk that gathered after a tale telling. And it got me thinking about using it as a way of sneaking into places we'd otherwise have no business in.
Do you fine people have any good seeds for infiltration/Trojan horse missions or tactics from games you've really enjoyed in the past?
Thanks in advance for any great ideas. |

| Not Deadlands, but my wizard once disguised himself and a friend as insurance salesmen to sneak into Zhentil Keep, one of the most notoriously evil cities in the Forgotten Realms. They made it past the guards, then were accosted by the criminal element... |

lol no wonder you made it into the city insurance salesman are evil. well except maybe the lizad, but hes comic relieve so he doesn't count.
hmm if you were asking what skill we need to do sttuff like that some options are stealth, persuasion, smarts, or streetwise. (being able to hide in plain sight, talking someone into believing your their to fix the heater not stuff it with enough dynamite to vap the town, being smart enough to devise a way in, and having the contacts to make it look like your a legitimate business man respectively.) |

I was more looking for good pretenses and any awesome or humorous experiences people may have had going the more subtle route in terms of getting into an area you can't just blast your way into.
But I had forgotten the connections angle, that's good to keep in mind. We're pretty lucky in that we have a guy in our group who is basically the most persuasive character imaginable. I think his charisma bonus is like 6 or 7. |
