I understand the spirit loss rules but not sure if they apply to the starting package of cyborg gear the character gets. The rules say they are free (no cost) but if you start with 4d12, the starting package of the Heavy Cyborg drops you to 3d8 before you even buy any extra.
And the Self-Repair-Unit, is that free as well, it is not part of the starting packages but listed in the same side bar.
