Royal Navy Rating System
Ships-of-the line were the battleships of the sailing days. They carried from 64 to over 100 guns. These guns were distributed over 3 decks.
1st Rate Guns 100+
2nd Rate Guns 90 to 98
3rd Rate Guns 64 to 80
Frigates were the cruisers of the 18th century. Usually smaller and faster. They carried 20 to 60 guns. These guns were usually distributed over 2 decks. Maybe 1 deck for the lower Gunned ships.
4th Rate Guns 50 to 60
5th Rate Guns 32 to 40
6th Rate Guns 20 to 28
Sloops-of-war were the smallest warships. They carried 10 to 20+ guns. These guns were distributed on 1 deck.
Gun-brig and Cutter Guns 6 to 14 These guns were distributed over 1 deck.

One of the fantastic things about a game based on Lady Sabre is that it's:
Swashbuckling
Steampunkish
Western
Pulpish

Hey guys,
I don't want to bump threads too much, so I'll lay low for awhile after this post. But, to answer the earlier question of when the hiatus will be over...it's over now!
New strip is available at the Ineffable Aether site. |

Hi guys,
Sorry to only drop by when there's news, but I wanted to let you know we launched a Kickstarter a few days ago to print our first volume, and it's going...really well so far.
We're over 200% funded now, but I still wanted to bring your attention to it because some of the limited tiers are going fast, and if any of you were interested, I didn't want you to feel like you missed out!
Thanks again for all of your support!
EDIT: OH! I forgot to mention the one thing I came here to say. One of our stretch goals (already met) is a pocket guide to the Aetherverse, written in-world, in-character by Aether gadfly Edwin Windsheer. I thought this might be a helpful resource for those of you still interested in running a homebrew game. |
