England had a sort of medieval revival starting in the early 1800's started by the work of
Sir Walter Scott, 1st Baronet (15 August 1771 – 21 September 1832)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sir_Walter_Scott
and it was carried on with the work of
William Morris (24 March 1834 – 3 October 1896)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Morris
They were getting into Ren fairs and jousting and dressing in kilts and doing medieval dances
When magic came back into the world I'd think those people in England would have gone !@@##$$ with glee and some would have become like mounted Templars and Merlin-ish wizards and formed into round table clubs _________________ http://s61.photobucket.com/albums/h51/Vondan/ |

| It was always my understanding that the Big Spigot of Magic Power was cranked open in the American West. Even Back East is already less weird than the west. Cross an ocean, I'd suspect it'd become even more significantly subdued. |

England in the 1870s was all about Spiritualism. Ghost-related magic like the ectomancer in The Dresden Files. Plus Cthulhu cultists and steampunk.
Those guys are cool, though. I can see small pockets of midievalists here and there.
jpk is right that most of the overt stuff in the default setting is in the American West, but I think most frontier-type places should get the same treatment. |

The other factor is that Templars are a level of overt intervention that the Good Guys are not willing to engage in, yet.
The Forces of Good always seem to take a minimalist approach to supernatural support - they'll give you the bare minimum you need to save the world, and expect you to save it. It's only when someone really screws up that more power is made available - again, the minimum needed to save the world.
It's not until Hell On Earth that the world is in bad enough shape that the Good Guys will empower true Templars. Everything before that is a Blessed with a sword (which is still a powerful champion). _________________ "Got a problem? I've got the solution: Rocket Launcher."

And don't forget the pre-raphaelites, they were painting medieval works in the 19th century, they would be delighted as well. _________________ Savage Worlds Toybox |

According to the Classic Marshal's Guide:
| Quote: | | Evil doesn’t recognize borders. There are just as many haunts in England as in the Black Hills of the Dakotas. More, actually, since the English have had a few thousand more years of blood- drenched, “civilized” history to find them. |
So there is definitely stuff going on, but I think that ValhallaGH is right: the forces of good are primarily using Blessed right now in both England and the Weird West because that's the proper force to combat evil right now. Now that's not to say that a few people decided to start dressing up like crusaders of old... _________________ Wild Card Creator: Any PDF. Any Setting. No Extra Cost.

My backup PC is named Arthur Reuel Tolkien and comes to the old west from England to fight evil as Gandace the Greyhat Huxter. If he gets followers they should be odes to Arther, Robin Hood and the Lady Rowena _________________ http://s61.photobucket.com/albums/h51/Vondan/ |

| Just read Rippers, you could use all or none of it. It gives you a good start though. |
