I like the Lady Sabre comic so much I'd like to see it in a professional light instead of a homebrew.
No offense to anyone!
I think the elements of the project are already out there. They just have to be collected, compiled, & flavored up.

I finished going through the archives the other day and something has bugged me. It's not the quality of the strip but rather how the logo hovers over the first panel and sometimes blocks out speech balloons. Right-clicking and saving the panel in question allows me to read it unimpeded, but this is somewhat tedious. Any idea what's happening? As a note, I was reading it on my work computer which uses an older version of Internet Explorer (not sure of the exact version, but it's from before they started having Tabs). _________________ The rabbit is cuddly. I agree with this wholeheartedly!!! We can even use the WizKidz pirate ships as Pirates of the Spanish Main recommends.
I also like the ideas of various fencing schools as in Pirates of the Spanish Main.
Their is obviously some magic and clock-work creations involved in the setting too.
D@mn!!! what else is there to want in a SW game?!?! _________________

Good potential.
We need more info on the cultures, power groups etc. Those storms sound like great plot devices! |

Hi folks, I'm Eric, the designer of the Sabre website!
This should definitely not be happening, Duck, and I apologize profusely for the tedium (while being grateful that you went through that to still read the comic)!
Any chance you could tell me what version of IE your workplace is using? If you let me know, I'll try to replicate the problem and see if I can't get that fixed for you (at the very least, I should be able to get the comic to hover over the logo instead, but hopefully I can do better than that).
To everyone else...if there are specific questions you have about the way the universe operates, shoot me an email (it should be visible on my profile here), and I'll pass it along to Greg and Rick. They might be hesitant to reveal all of the secrets of the Aetherverse, but I know that Greg especially has been excited about the potential for a Sabre RPG from day one.

Thanks so much for your support of our comic. If you have any suggestions on getting the word out to more folks, please let us know. We've been relying mostly on social media, webcomics sites, and word of mouth so far, and haven't made many in-roads into the RPG or steampunk communities (though we've tried!). |

I think it's IE6, but am not absolutely sure. As I said, it's from before they added the Tabs feature, but after they allowed RSS feeds. _________________ The rabbit is cuddly. Kids like little cuddly sidekicks. I mean-- The rabbit-- It's a time-tested-- Okay, the rabbit bites.

Unless your work forbids upgrading IE because they have custom software that needs it, that really needs to be updated. iE 6 isn't even supported by Microsoft any longer and they flat out tell people not to use it any longer.
On a non tech note, I read through the archive last night and Lady Sabre would be absolutely perfect for the Savage Worlds system! Only drawback I see to doing the conversion is that it feels like we don't have enough of the background detail yet to do it justice. _________________ CEO of Paranoia, Inc.

I wonder if we (or however is gonna write this worldbook up) could talk Greg & Rick into giving up enough information? _________________

When there's more known -- on the creators' schedule -- I think it would make a great setting for a game. Right now though, we just don't know enough about it. I wouldn't want to be preamaturely told the secrets of the Aether, though.
I suggest we let the story unfold and revisit this idea at a later time. _________________ 'But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.

I agree, SGG, that waiting would be best at this time. My impatience doesn't agree. Perhaps, when the time is a right, Eric, Greg and Rick can be part of a joint effort with a publisher to make a licensed product. |

It's a non-issue now. The reason for reading it from my work computer was because it has a faster connection than my home computer. But now that I've caught up, I'll be reading it at home, where I have a more current browser. My guess is that the issue involved something in the style sheet which the older browser was unable to interpret.
BTW when should the hiatus be over? _________________ The rabbit is cuddly. Kids like little cuddly sidekicks. I mean-- The rabbit-- It's a time-tested-- Okay, the rabbit bites.

Mr. Jordan Peacock has made a wonderful list of miniatures that are appropriate for aether ship crews HERE.
They might be too pirate like though.
Same for WESTERN miniatures... these are for Deadlands but still many usable for Lady Sabre & The Pirates of the Ineffable Aether.
We need some Gaslight types to throw into the mix. Oh! And some clockwork types too.
Hans was dressed in a British looking type of uniform, but his name made me think his nation was more German/Kaiser type. In fact he kind of resembled Wilhelm II, German Emperor. Plus they had the Zeppelin type Aether ship.
Lady Sabre's Pegases is a 4 masted ship. She has a Bowsprint, foremast, mainmast, & mizzen mast. This would make her a frigate according to the Pirates of the Spanish Main book.
In THIS PICTURE she's showing 25 gunports on one broadside. A bit much for a historical frigate. But, of course, we don't know what she's armed with. Might not be cannons... maybe some new and "gaslightish" type of inventive weapon.
Any ideas on what Lady Sabre's character would be like in SW form? _________________

And nothing says that there's guns in each of those ports.
It wasn't uncommon for early ships to have additional gunports, giving locations for cannons to be fired from, and only have a dozen guns for the entire ship. As time passed and naval warfare got more common, fighting ships filled up all their ports, but pure merchants had other concerns (mass, volume, looking scary enough to keep small-time raiders at bay, etc.). _________________ "Got a problem? We should be back in July, though we may have to push back a week because of personal life delays.

Hey, a question I can answer! The Pegasus is a fifth-rate frigate, and Greg has been pretty open about it being modeled on the HMS Surprise from the Aubrey-Maturin books of Patrick O'Brian. Inconsistencies should be chalked up to Rick's artistic license. We're working toward a more consistent model.

It might be worth making a list of the sorts of things you'd want to know that I could pass on to Greg. He's got a master document of the details of the world, and I don't know that all or many of them are secret -- they just haven't factored into the story being told so far.
If there were general or even specific things you wanted to know about, or that would facilitate the development of a sourcebook, they might be topics that could be featured through the Almanac section of the site. To be honest, it might be good to have some suggestions along those lines.
