I'm trying to convert a pathfinder barbarian of mine to Savage Worlds. I'm having trouble with his axe. It's a +1 Keen Orc Bane Great Axe!

Keen increases the chances of a critical hit by one... how would you model this in savage worlds?

+1 Keen Bane (orc) Great axe:

A medium-power magic item, with decent utility and devastating effects on Orcs.

I'd start a conversion with the Fantasy Companion relic: Orcbane. Replace long sword with great axe, and drop the base +1 Fighting bonus (bonuses on attack rolls are obscenely powerful in Savage Worlds). The keen property (supernatural sharpness with increased chances of a critical hit) can be represented in several ways in Savage Worlds:
First, a reduction of called shot penalties. This is probably the most accurate translation option, since the things immune to critical hits in Pathfinder (undead, constructs, etc.) are generally immune to called shots in Savage Worlds.
Second, a generic damage increase. This could be increasing the base weapon die (to d12), adding some static damage (+1 is enough), or even adding an extra weapon die (+d4). A bit bland, but very potent.
Third, increased damage when hitting with a Raise. This is probably the most powerful version, and the least accurate translation, since it works just as well against constructs, undead, and elementals as against orcs.

There are other options, but those are the ones that seem most appropriate to me. Good luck.

Simply as... +1 to Fighting and +3 damage against orcs.

I like that, if you wanted to take Keen more into account, you could make on a raise instead of an extra D6, it gets and extra D8, 10, or 12.

I'd go with what Clint said.

Or maybe the weapon has the No Mercy Edge, but only against orcs.

When fighting orcs and wielding that weapon, you can spend a benny to re-roll damage.

Thing is, a +1 to attacks in SW already includes a "Keen" effect in it. Since getting a "critical" is based on exceeding the TN by 4, not rolling a specific number on the die, any bonus to that roll not only increases the chance to hit, but also the chance to "critical hit" inherently as well.

What is split into different mechanics in that system is innate to the one attack roll in SW.
