Lots of great stuff in the pipeline
Quick question though RE: the comic book: was the fourth issue ever released? Only the first three one-shots made it to Comixology, and the publisher's web page still says "coming in September" for issue 4. |

Yeah, the fourth issue, Hopeless Roads, was cancelled, and was replaced by Black Water. So that's the reason for the delay. At this point I've read the entire colored, lettered PDF proof of Black Water, so I can promise you it's on the way soon. And as I said elsewhere, it's chock full of Great Maze badness. _________________ Matthew Cutter

how about calling it:
Deadlands: Abominations, Miscreants, and Critters. |
As long as you're giving us permission to use it, I'll put it on the list o' possibilities.
|
the title is all yours and if you want to use it then i would be honoured (a credit would also go down well ) |

| What are the chances of seeing those PDFs as actual books? Whilst PDFs are handy, I like to have a book. And before anyone suggests I print them, or take the file to a printer, I am aware of that option, but I prefer to have the book. |

Me too!
The one product that's listed as PDF (The Blood Drive! trilogy) will be released in print form once John Goff completes the series. Everything else is print (although PDFs will come out first for the first-run stuff). _________________ Matthew Cutter

You ought to get that looked at, amigo. It's pox-walker season.
Finished the first draft of Return to Manitou Bluff last week. "Top men" are now looking it over. Felt good to hit the finish line on that one—62,000 words!
Currently doing a full copyedit on Deadlands: Relics.
Art is coming in for Deadlands: Ghost Towns, which is in layout or will be there in the near future. _________________ Matthew Cutter

| Will there be any overlap between the towns in the DL Classic "Boomtowns" book and those in "Ghost Towns"? |

Hey Cutter, how's that third plot point campaign coming along? Have you had a posse finish playing through it yet, or has it proven too deadly so far?
Is that book shaping up to be anywhere near the size of Last Sons? Or larger? _________________ My blog: http://ninjasridingdinosaurs.wordpress.com/ - Now with occassional updates! |

So far, it's been just deadly enough. Still playtesting, but I've gotten some great feedback and encouragement on it from my players. In particular, they loved Plot Point 2.
I'd be very surprised if it's as long as The Last Sons. I'm aiming for closer to typical Plot Point length. Because this is more of a personal story (as opposed to the world-shaking events of the first two books), the focus is a lot tighter.
Which also means the book is likely to come out faster, so there's that. _________________ Matthew Cutter

Nah, we'll come up with something better than that.
Curiosities, antiquities, something along those lines. _________________ Matthew Cutter

Sorry I haven't posted here in a while, amigos!
The update goes like this: the first four items remaining on the list are speeding toward release like devil bats out o' Hell. I can answer pretty much any non-spoilery questions about those.
The [Relics] and [Monsters] books are about to go from editing to layout. Let me just say that John Goff knocked this one out of the park. ("The Squatpump Gang"; 'nuff said. )
Playtesting of the Stone and a Hard Place Plot Point continues (my guys are about halfway through it).
In other news, I strongly recommend the John Wayne film Hondo. _________________ Matthew Cutter

Wow! That's a lot of flying out of Hell!
I've got a few questions:
1. Anything cool added in the Trail Guide Compilation to fill out the extra few pages, as Joel hinted at once?
2. How big are the Blood Drive Trilogy adventures and Return to Manitou Bluff? Coffin Rock big?
3. Any chance that Pinebox, Texas is going to be one of the Ghost Towns? (Just wondering…)
4. Does A Stone and a Hard Place address the fact that there are two Stones floating around the Weird West (with one of them being out of the picture by Hell on Earth?). Bonus points for giving a Kinstle-esque reply about whether or not the posse will kill one of them to provide an epic, but not metaplot-breaking, conclusion.
5. Are you still trying to get every title in A Stone and a Hard Place to be the name of a spaghetti western?
6. Last but not least, in the Pinnacle chat a while back, you mentioned that "Trail Guide: Hell's Half-Acre (by Steven S. Long)" was in the works. What's that all about? _________________ Wild Card Creator: Any PDF. Any Setting. No Extra Cost.

Not sure... I think those pages are filled out with an index and some more art, for the most part.
| Quote: | | 2. How big are the Blood Drive Trilogy adventures and Return to Manitou Bluff? Coffin Rock big? |
Each Blood Drive installment is roughly 35 pp. Manitou Bluff is 158 pp., most of it setting material; the adventure's set up in a sandbox style.
| Quote: | | 3. Any chance that Pinebox, Texas is going to be one of the Ghost Towns? (Just wondering…) |
Nope. We put Pinebox on the map as a shout-out to our buddies at 12 to Midnight, and I spoke briefly with Ed about writing a Trail Guide for it a few years back, but we've all gotten very busy with other things.
| Quote: | | 4. Does A Stone and a Hard Place address the fact that there are two Stones floating around the Weird West (with one of them being out of the picture by Hell on Earth?). |
Yes, it's addressed. I won't say how it's resolved. I will say there's only one timeline, and no established events will (or can) be undone.
| Quote: | | 5. Are you still trying to get every title in A Stone and a Hard Place to be the name of a spaghetti western? |
Let's amend that to "lots" of spaghetti western titles. Don't want to paint myself into a corner.

Steve wrote an entire book about Hell's Half-Acre for Classic Deadlands a looooong time ago. We've got his blessing to "reload" it into a modern Trail Guide. It's pretty cool. _________________ Matthew Cutter
