I bought the PDF of the NE:Ex edition. According to a note on the first page, the layers are supposed to let you control what is visible and what isn't. I believe this was done to replace the need for a separate printer-friendly edition.
However, when I click on layers and expand the list, only one layer is listed: "Text". Clicking on the eye button next to the layer listed, makes no discernible difference in what is displayed. I have not had this problem with other layered PDFs of PEG products.
I have tried this with multiple versions on Adobe Reader, and gotten the same exact results. Has anyone else encountered this odd behavior?

Huh. First I've heard of it.
Where did you each get your PDFs? Let me know, and I'll look into that.
Oh, and the layers are exactly so you don't have to deal with a separate print-friendly version since you can turn off the background, choose whether or not to leave graphics, and then set your printer to black-and-white. They also give you the option to print out only the pictures from a given page, which is a good way to make maps or illustrations into hand-outs. _________________ Joel Kinstle

| Just noticed, as I have never needed to print the PDF, and I have the same issue. Got it from DriveThru. There is only one layer called Text. I assume there should be layers for images and background. According to DriveThru the file was last updated on their site 2011-09-06. |

Hi Joel,
Thank you for looking into this. I just re-downloaded from RPGNow and the new file still has the same issue.

I suspect we'll be able to resolve it, but I don't know quite how long it'll take. Some folks are missing for holidays and so on. I'll let you know when we do something to it. _________________ Joel Kinstle
