I did a search for these questions, but didn't seem to turn anything up.

I'm using the SWEX version of the rules, and wanted to clarify a few things for my upcoming game.

1. Can you aid a Knowledge (Battle) roll in a Mass Battle?
Ustin has Knowledge (Battle), and wants to aid the general. He rolls a 5 on a d6 and gets a success. Does that add +1 to the General's Knowledge (Battle) roll?

2. Does the smaller army get rounded up or down?
The orcs have 320 warriors. The humans and dwarves only have 145. Does that mean the humans and dwarves have 4 or 5 tokens?

3. Do you add the rank bonus (+1/rank above novice) to the Knowledge (Battle) roll?
The general is Veteran. Does he add +2 to his Knowledge (Battle) roll?

These answers aren't significantly altered by SWEX vs. SWD, so...

It's up to the GM whether a Cooperative Roll can be made in any situation, so there is no "official" answer other than that really.

Ultimately, the decision won't affect much as if one side can do it, so can the other. The only main effect is it will allow players to aid the roll without putting their characters in danger, but equally they will have a maximum bonus that doesn't exist with the other modifiers (and if using SWD, they can't roll untrained).

As noted in Set Up <italics added>, "Now give the opposing force a proportionate number of tokens (round up).

So since 145 is 45.3% of 320, that would round up so they would have 5 tokens to the larger army's 10.

Nope, that rule only applies to Characters In Mass Battles.
