So I recently started running a Savage Fallout game and I thought it would be cute to use bottle caps as bennies.
Since I like cheap, watery beer, I drink Pabst Blue Ribbon (non ironically!). For those of you unfamiliar with PBR, on the underside of the bottle caps they have the symbol for a particular playing card.
Suddenly I was inspired for a couple ways to have the Bottlecap Bennies engage with the game a bit more. So I randomly distribute bennies from a bag at the start of the game and, in addition to their other uses, I allow a player to, at any time, spend a bennie to substitute that card for the card they were dealt in initiative.
Furthermore we use the Adventure Deck and if you are ever dealt an initiative card that matches one of your bennies then you are dealt an extra Adventure Card. I figured the odds on that would be fairly rare (as I wanted them) and so far in two sessions it has happened once.
The players seem to enjoy it and it adds some interesting twists to the game, giving the players at least a little control over the initiative order at critical moments. |

I had no idea that PBR did that. Nice catch, and I like how you used it! _________________ Kevin Rohan, Content Director

Also since we'd habitually thrown away all our old bottle caps then I had a good excuse to drink plenty of beer the last couple weeks! |

Fun math fact. If your odds of getting any specific card are even, then you need, on average, to drink 236 beers to get a complete deck of cards as bottle caps.
Enjoy |

You know, I was actually wondering that. But I don't feel obligated to have a complete set.

I've just started using the my Hobgoblin Ale bottlecaps for bennies in 1 of our SW games. Previously I'd been using them in our Battlelore games as levy tokens for Goblin regular forces. They're royal blue with a nasty Hobgoblin on them. The fact that it's brewed by a brewery in the UK named Wychwood is icing on the cake. |

Slight off topic--Wychwood makes some great beer. I can't remember what his on the King Hobgoblin cap, but might e interesting to add that in the mix. |

No worries. Though that number increases if they have jokers as well
Not by that much, your looking at around 248 beers for that set |

I didn't either. But then, I drink beer.
