A homebrewed Savage BattleTech was released recently. The BattleTech universe doesn't have aliens like the Zentreti, but its Mech action is similar. You could probably adapt the play mechanics of both systems to a Robotech/Macross setting.

*look rather surprised at being mentioned*

As a fan of both Robotech and Battletech (despite the sordid history between Harmony Gold and FASA), and one of the designers of Savage Battletech, I'd throw out there that while you could use some of the core ideas for SBt for a starting point, but SBt doesn't handle the aerial combat well.

DEST Droids and stuff would work perfectly fine, as it stands the Battletech Mech/Fighter conversion units (called LAMs) are much weaker than their purebred Mech and Aerospace Fighter counterparts, which doesn't work with the canon of Robotech in that the Veritecs are actually better than the DEST Droids.

I think, overall you'd have to abstract the aerial combat, as showing 3d combat on a 2d map never works well. You'd also have to tweak the LAM rules to make them more on par with both Mechs and ASFs, but it would be doable.

Yep, good points. Robotech might very well be a mecha setting better suited to building mechas the way you create PC's. So with that in mind, the homebrewed Savage Space might be a better model to base it on.

Or just use the Super Powers Companion to stat up the Mechs.
All of which have the Full Power setting rule (full power points at the beginning of the campaign) and the Device modifier.

I've been thinking that Over the Edge would be very good.

I mentioned this in another thread, but I had a kick running Eco.

http://www.rpgnow.com/product/3160/eco?it=1

My players had a skunk, a raccoon, two ferrets, a squirrel, and an eagle. Oh, the havoc they caused. Oh, the chagrin of the raccoon's player when he was caught by local animal control agents and put on a rabies watch. Such fun.

Eco has it's own system, now defunct I think, but I ran it using conversions I made up for True20.

With a change of scale, it or something like it could be a fun Savage Setting.

In it, the heroes are animals. Not anthropomorphic animals, but otherwise normal animals that have somehow been blessed with human-like sentience.

You could use it for something like Watership Down, or The Secret of NIMH, or something silly and cartoony, depending on the setting rules you use.

Have I mentioned my love of Immortal: The Invisible War? Fantastic setting, beautiful core book, incoherent and absolutely unplayable rules system. Would be difficult to convert due to the power levels involved, unless you leaned heavily on the SPC. I guess I haven't gotten around to converting this game because I have trouble coming up with adventure ideas for such a bizarre world.

This one Ive wanted to be savaged ever since I discovered Savage Worlds
Sadly never gonna happen, since it's swedish and out of print.

It might look a lot like Gamma World, but it differs in the less wackyness (though still plenty of humor). Think Mad Max meets Wind in the Willows.

Some Amazing Engine settings like Once and Future King, Kromosome, and Magitech beg for a good Savaging.

Magitech, I agree with. I one of the things I recall most clearly about the setting was a fluff reference to their version of Star Trek. Something about a gigantic space-going magic carpet with an alien magician First Officer. Smile That alone would make for some interesting gaming.

I think this might very well be doable using Interface Zero. IZ has just about everything that setting has minus the more traditional, scrap-yard variety robots. However, it does have cyborgs which could be adapted for that with some tweaking - they are afterall constructs. To treat races as classes the way Undergångens Arvtagare has, you could treat the races in IZ as background/class edges. IZ Hybrid race can easily be tweaked to provide more of a hybrid-mutant race. Of course you'd have to strip all the setting out of IZ and replace it with Pyrisamfundet, but the Swedish publisher cetainly seem to give quite a few details of it on their website.

Actually at this point anoyone that made stuff for D20 Modern or True 20 is fair game for me to want savage. I have a question to the Reality Blurs guys: Were you responsible for the Alien Invasion book for D20 Modern? And if you were would be too much to ask that you convert it to Savage Worlds?

I think it was very, very badly timed.

I used to play the 7th Sea CCG (Still have a few decks lying around) as well as the RPG. The online community for 7th Sea was easily THE best community I've ever been part of. I've always abhorred fan-fiction and suddenly I was WRITING it (as a member of Team Naughty, so it was rather humorous fanfic.). The designers were really close to the fans. 7th Sea was turning a nice profit for AEG so longevity wasn't a problem at all etc. etc.

AEG re-acquired L5R and suddenly the latest expansion for 7th Sea turned into the last expansion for 7th Sea. There weren't enough people left to work on 7th Sea...but they had just released Warlord (OK, that one stuck around for a while), and Spycraft was just around the corner (crashed and burned) and Formula D was planned (I don't even know what ever came of that).

Alright, I (and other people) were more then a bit disgruntled...but we still had the RPG. And then they came out with the D20 version...AND IT WASN'T EVEN CALLED 7TH SEA ANYMORE! "Swashbuckling Adventures" for the ultimate generic feel...

I just walked away (and to this day avoid giving AEG my money), other people lashed out.

My longest and best game I have ever played close to 3 years, was 7th Sea. We always talk about running another game, but I just don't know if it will ever happen.

They came out with a d20 core book, and the support books that came after that were dual-statted so you could still use them with the original version. The didn't stop supporting the original at all. I guess they wanted to jump onto the d20 bandwagon and it irked a lot of until-then loyal fans.

But I understand the frustration. It was badly timed and badly marketed.

These are not RPGs, but I'd like to see some GURPS worldbooks converted...

Autoduel
Bunnies & Burrows
Space
Time Travel
Mysterious Places

Just to name a few...

I'd like to see White Wolfs Exalted saveged. I was looking onto this, coming up with some basic rules to create the differing caste, and realized, White Wolf snuck in some classes!!! Surprised
Dawn Caste=Warriors
Night Caste=Thief
Zenith Caste=Ranger
EclipseCaste=Rogue/Face
Twilight Caste=Healer/Mage

Slick bastards!!! LOL!!!
Wink
