I've always liked the broad spectrum type Toolkits/genre books more than any specific narrowed playing universe.
For example: I'd buy a SCI-FI "Toolkit" that would allow me to come up with my own universe with elements of Star Trek, Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, Honor Harrington, etc... than buy a specific book of those universes. _________________

Ya, what's the matter with you, thinking that VonDon would post some bizarre joke ... wait a minute ...

This is why I keep hoping Paradigm Concepts will bring their Tales of the Calipate Nights setting to Savage worlds; umm... I thinking for the "sweet content". Its currenlty only available for True20, but its one excellent setting book and really brings alive Arabia of the Middle Ages. |

Maybe both in a single setting...huh...

VonDan started a Sinbad inspired adventure for the SW:FC with a few flavor rules and then dropped his Hard Drive

The resource books for Transhuman Space: Orbital Decay has some Arabian sci fi chapters covering future middle east.
A kids book called "The ear the eye and the Armd" has a zanzibar coast cyber punk setting and takes place in a future Zimbabwe and south Africa

VonDan sorry about the crash. That sounds like a serious kick butt setting. I'd buy it. _________________ http://www.armsonline.org/

| Quote: | | Personally, I'm a 1 setting book kinda guy. I only have so much money, much less time, to buy and read a million add-ons. | --- AMEN!!! I'm a 1 setting book type too. I boycott games/settings with multiple setting books. Way too much $$$ and way too much cross referencing!! No thank you.
We have a lot of SW settings that address most of the genres. And while those settings are great, I would rather make one that is uniquely my own with combinations of elements that I want in it.
We seem to be lacking, and correct me if I'm wrong or missing anything, Toolkits/Companion books for...
Wild West (as wild as you want to make it)
Anime (This might just be a "STYLE" of play)
Steampunk/Victorian Era (I'd like Girl Genius quite a bit)
Sci-Fi (hard or not, plugins from many different Sci-Fi shows/universes)
Post Apocalyptic (During/Right after - up to far in the future. Plugins for the intensity/proliferation/strength of the mutations)
Time Travel (maybe like Pacesetter's Timemaster game? Or like Poul Anderson's Time Patrol books?)
I'd like to see any of these!
<EDITED IN> What is this Byzantine Fantasy? I'm not familiar with it. _________________

The comic book Wasteland is a good example of a Post Apocalyptic setting. The first issue is free to read too. _________________

You're wrong. There are scifi toolkits, which I believe are coming to a companion sometime soon-ish. DTotSL Combat Hazards is also handy. _________________ "It only takes an extra second to be courteous."

Daring Tales of the Space Lanes by Triple Ace Games. You can get electronic copies via RPGNow or DriveThruRPG. _________________ http://www.armsonline.org/

Oh those are perfect for an urban crime game based on the movie "I'm gonna get you sucker" which has Richard Roundtree. And the hero is named Jack Spade _________________ http://s61.photobucket.com/albums/h51/Vondan/ |

If we are doing the 70's I would love to see a campy British spy setting using the
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang minis - kind of Austin Powers Avengers-y _________________ Biting! It's like kissing but there's a winner!

That's Mrs.Peel
She could not be single and scandalously associated with Steed.
BTW, just to be clear TV series not the execrable film. _________________ Biting! It's like kissing but there's a winner!

I agree that it's execrable in many ways... but I love that movie. _________________ Matthew Cutter

A little supplement Wiggy put out for DTotSL:

It has some handy rules for space combat and such. _________________ "It only takes an extra second to be courteous."

Very true. Though just about any shonen anime could be handled using the Super Powers Companion. _________________ The rabbit is cuddly. Kids like little cuddly sidekicks. I mean-- The rabbit-- It's a time-tested-- Okay, the rabbit bites.
