Hello All. I have long been looking to give Savage Worlds a try and have managed to convince a group to play a one-shot. I've yet to have the opportunity to play or run SW myself but I own the Explorers edition rulebook.
Are there any convention one-shot scenario packages like The Sword for Burning Wheel that present a cast of characters and a narrowly defined situation suitable for a 4 hour session. Ideally I would like a genre that is uncommon to illustrate the potential of the system.
Thank you.

Hi rlamond. Welcome to the forum!

Specifically check out the "Genre Supplements" here: http://www.peginc.com/downloads.html#DL_SW

They often have figure flats and maps to go with them. Also check "the Wild Hunt" in the core section on the same page.

I think most of these are designed for newer players.

Enjoy and good luck!

Welcome to the forums!

I think The Wild Hunt (in the downloads section at the top) would be handy for you. It is a self-contained modern-day horror scenario designed for introducing the game and bundled with quick-start rules. I comes complete with figure flats (ie paper minis).

The advantage you have with SW is you can run pretty much any kind of game your group would like, so ask them what film, or book, or videogame they would like as a setting.

I would say while the Eye of Kilquato is well written it is very deadly (at least each time I have played and run it) so I would save it for a later game. The suggestion to use the Wild Hunt is good one and I hope that during Free RPG Day we get a new Savage Worlds adventure as well written as that one.
