Hiyas!
I'm really confused about a kinda loop forming in withdrawing from combat:
Let's see about this situation (to be honest, I don't know even if this is legal):
It's a one on one fight:
Let's say the Hero goes 1st, then the Villain.
Can the hero state, in his card, he's withdrawing from combat, using the Defend option (+2 to Parry) & then, can the villain, in his card, "pursue" him right away (move & attack), for all intents and purposes "keeping the Pace" with the hero (if both have the same Pace score) since the Defend option only let's the hero move up to his Pace? Can the villain keep doing this indefinitely (Hero withdraws + Defends, villain moves & attacks)?
Would the hero ever disentangle himself? Or is the very first act of withdrawal + Defending enough to move the hero out of reach (if the villain's not using a Reach weapon) of the villain?
What if it's the villain who goes 1st, & then the hero withdraws defeding?
I hope I was kleer enough!
Thanks!

That first situation could theoretically occur, but it depends on a lot of conditions being placed on it. Such as the fact it is a one-on-one fight, that the hero always goes first, and placing it in an "open field" effectively where the hero's movement can't put them in a better position or the villain in a worse one.
Then there is the latter situation where the villain goes first and then the hero withdraws. If the hero goes first the next round, he's already a full movement away, so he can choose to run if he really wants to get away.
Ultimately, as with many things, when an action is taken can have a big influence on how successful it is. _________________ Clint Black
