Though I may need to contact DriveThruRPG.... I'm not sure this file I got is the updated one. It doesn't have the separate bookmarks, and the errata isn't in here.... and DriveThru does say its updated too.... ..... _________________ Freelancer and Proofreader (check me out in the Noir books!)

The one from yesterday was not updated.
Today it appears to be good to go (at least using the 'bookmark' method of identification).
As a side note, I downloaded yesterday from rpgnow front-end and today from drivethru. Dunno if that makes a difference as the account page appears to be the same.

I haven't gotten anything from Studio2Publishing. I think it may be because I bought the Print + PDF preorder at Origins. Sending an e-mail to them now to see if we can get it worked out. _________________ Wild Card Creator: Any PDF. Any Setting. No Extra Cost.

Let us know how that goes. I, myself bought the preorder package and have not received a notice of an updated PDF. _________________ Carl Hickman

I really dislike getting those e-mails. I appreciate not being spammed with them. _________________ "Got a problem? I've got the solution: Rocket Launcher."

The file has been updated. You can download it again whether you get a notification or not. You don't need to wait on anything. _________________ Joel Kinstle

I've been holding off on burning the toner to print this out until the updated pdf. While I noticed that the page numbers no longer disappear when the page backgrounds are turned off (thank you), it appears that page 2 was supposed to be preceded by a blank page 1. As it is now, when the pages are printed out double-sided, the page numbers appear on the inside (spine) side of the page rather than the outside. IOW based on the location of the page numbers in the pdf, page 2 should be a left hand page, page 3 should be a right hand page. However, without the extra blank page, the credits page prints on the back of the cover (the first left hand page) and page 2 prints as a right hand page with page 3 backing it as the next left hand page and so on. This also places the two page art spreads back to back rather than side by side.
The page numbers are already partially cut off due to being outside the printable area of my Color Laserjet. Their location on the interior edges of the pages makes them virtually unusable after the comb binding punch ate into them as well. |

You're welcome.
| mac40k wrote: | | ... it appears that page 2 was supposed to be preceded by a blank page 1. (...) |
How you choose to print determines whether a blank page is necessary or not, and we have no control over that in any way. There are many ways to "fake" a blank page if you feel the need to. It's much tougher to get rid of one you don't want and, in many readers, can damage the resulting PDF.
We produce as unlimited a PDF as we possibly can. We give the users control over which layers are revealed, how to print, how to copy...pretty much everything is in your hands. When we surrender all those choices to the user, the user has to purposefully make those choices himself.
If you'll send me a private message with exactly what you're trying to accomplish, I'll happily give you my advice on how to get it done with the Adobe Acrobat Reader.

We can't design our books to account for every printer's nonprintable margin, which vary from zero to three-quarters of an inch in my reasonably limited printer experience. If you want to make sure you're not going to lose anything on your particular printer, you're going to need to select the Shrink to Printable Area in the Scaling drop-down in the printing dialog box when you print.
My general advice to anyone who plans on printing a large book - especially if you're binding it - is to print the first four pages, make sure it's all how you want it, then print the rest. Whether you're using our PDFs or anyone else's, it's a good technique to avoid heartache. _________________ Joel Kinstle

There will be, and details will be forthcoming when we "ship" the update and announce it. |
Any info?

For those of you who got the Savage Worlds Deluxe PDF via CD at GenCon, please contact orders@studio2publishing.com and let them know you'd like a copy of the updated file. They'll take care of it from there.
I knew I forgot something in that earlier announcement, and I apologize for any inconvenience I've caused you. _________________ Joel Kinstle

Out of curiosity, is the PDF going to be updated again any time soon for any other errata or other changes? I was going to print out some sections for my gaming binder, but I'll wait if there's going to be another update. _________________ "It only takes an extra second to be courteous."

I think we've got all the errata updated, and I don't see anything exciting changing any time in the near future.
Just be sure you've got the most recent version. Right now, you can double-check that by turning off the page backgrounds and seeing if there's a red outline around the page numbers. If there is, it's the newest one. _________________ Joel Kinstle
