I just was crafting rippertech for xp. that's been the only way I could get xp.
I just combined an item with itself. candles with candles.

Back when I was playing that, I had about five recipies that I was using. The rest of my ingredients either went into testing things at random for the spreadsheet or for XP. I was making enough money for a while that I was buying whatever was cheap at the store for ingredients and converting them straight into XP doing what you're doing.

And the candle thing is lame. You should totally be able to make candles from candles! They're wax and wick!
