Just picked it up yesterday. Let me just say that I think this is the best SW book to date (albeit there are a few I don't own yet).

Its Adventure Generator should become standard in all SW products!

I know this was Adamant's baby, but please please please put this same kind of effort into the Sci-Fi Companion when you get to it.

Awesomesauce!

Yes its a great product. I never thought anybody could beat White Wolf's 'Adventure" book when it came to 1920s/1930s Pulp settings - but 'Thrilling Tales' is right up there with them, perhaps even better.

Yes, a great product, very good value for money

Sounds great guys, but does it have what I need for my game?

I am most interested in prices of common items from a cup of joe to that frock the flapper gun moll wants and everything else within reason. A few things out of reason as well. I really liked the guns and vehicles listing you can see on the DTRPG site, but I need to know if it has more of the same for more esoteric stuff in daily life.

Thanks!

It sounds like you're wanting a list that is far more comprehensive than any RPG supplement has ever bothered to do. You'd be better off looking for actual historical price lists.

Thrilling Tales is quite good. A great companion piece to any pulp game is Pulp Hero from Hero System. Outside of some statted material for HERO, that book is solid gold. Won a silver Ennie the year it came out. It's as good as some of the best Gurps sourcebooks.

Thanks. As a once GURPSie, that's saying a lot. I think I can get a hold of a Sears catalog reprint from around then, and that would have a lot of good stuff, I am sure.

Oh that's nice!

I too am a recovering GURPSie. I will never go back. SW all the way for me. Thrilling Tales is, by far, one of the best books I've ever purchased. It is comprehensive and a lot of fun. I use the generator even for my non-pulp games.

I haven't been able to get any adventure generator to work for me, but that's more of an issue with me. Thrilling Tales got me thinking that I've been trying to make adventures in a vacuum. What I needed was to build a rogue's gallery of interesting villains and then the stories would start suggesting themselves.

Thrilling tales is now a must carry for me along with the SWEX. I really hope they put together a Thrilling Tales From Outer Space book. I like Slipstream, but I'd also like some in depth info on Pulp Sci-Fi that inspired it.
