Just in case there are people who use Fantasy Grounds but do not frequent the forums, I thought I'd post here that I've started doing a set of "Tutorials/How To" videos on YouTube.

This was a number of firsts; first time posting on YouTube, first time trying to make a video and thus the first video is not "ideal" - the sound is too quiet and the 10 minute limitation meant that I had to do some hasty editing.

Part 2 and the Combat tracker part 1 are a little smoother:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o75sLaHgOcg

The second part of the combat tracker is causing me some problems (my microphone is playing up), so there may be a delay.

Hope someone finds them useful.

If there are any particular items you would like me to make a video of please let me know!

I will definitely watch these! Thanks!

I've had Fantasy Grounds for a while now and, unfortunately, I have yet to use it... Sad

Combat Tracker Part 2:

Audio problems cut this one a little shorter than intended.

Terrific! I'll have to check these out. I've been conducting a campaign via Fantasy Grounds for a couple months, but I have a lot to learn. Tech support from SmiteWorks has been very good, but there is a woeful lack of up-to-date documentation for learning the software.

Nice! The two-part combat tracker tutorial was very helpful. Thank you for making these videos! Each video is better than the previous one - in terms of presentation - but they are all useful for new Fantasy Grounds GMs.

Well done, sir!

Have you seen part 4 (part 3 was me running a combat for real and of limited use), but part four finished off the missing bits (the buggy group entry box) and the useful effects.

Also I am open to requests post here or even better at www.savageworldsonline.net

Also I'll re-post them all soon (not on Youtube) at higher res for download.

Thanks for posting this. I think stuff like this can introduce roleplaying to new people in a possitive way. Sadly the audio in the 1st one is to low to hear. I have not had a chance to watch the others yet.

I see you know about that though.

Is this the way people play across the net?

All good, Cheers!

Not yet. I checked out the first two videos, but couldn't hear them well enough. I knew that part (character sheet functions) of Fantasy Grounds anyway. Then I watched two videos about the Combat Tracker (the second of which was about 6 minutes long). I just found the other videos, so I'll check those out.

I'm conducting a FG session tonight, so I'll put my new knowledge to immediate use! Thanks again!

Just watched Tracker vids 3 and 4. Part 3 was a bit hard to follow, but I picked up a couple things. Part 4 was VERY good. I will make good use of the FX functions.

If you haven't done so already, I suggest that you let the SmiteWorks folks know that these tutorials are available. It is especially useful to see this in use with the SWEX rule set.

I've been slow to try online role-playing, but Fantasy Grounds (FG) works pretty well. I've been using it for only a couple months, but it has allowed me to reconnect with my original gaming friends (from high school years) who live about 1000 miles away. We use Skype for voice and then FG for our virtual table top.

It was frustrating at first, because there is a significant learning curve for FG, plus I was also running Savage Worlds for the first time - so I was learning both components at the same time. Yikes... But we are starting to hit our stride after a few sessions.
