Out today. All our previous Loaerth & Feywyrd content on our development blog has been largely system neutral. Today we though we would release a preview of the Loaerthian Troll, a playable character race, for your enjoyment.
Feedback welcome! In fact, we thrive on it - so let us know what you think of the background, the "crunch", the artwork, etc. We are all ears.
Thanks! _________________ -----

I like it! The way they fit into the setting is nice, they fill the traditional "tribal monster race" role, while still offering a nice amount of depth and not being limited to that role.
After a first glance my only criticism is that I'd swap out fleet footed for a higher base pace. That way a troll character can be fleet footed as well as naturally fast.
I'd totally play one.

Hiya!
Two quick observations:
1. I might consider swapping out the Knowledge (History) for +2 Common Knowledge rolls relating to History of the Known World. (Ultimately, more useful in game.)
2. Hindrances and not hinderances (sp). This sneaks in from time to time.
Regards,
Sean
P.S. One caveat, I didn't look at them from a points balance perspective, so I cannot speak to that. _________________ Reality Blurs: Game Design Studio

@foxblue -- hrmmm... that's an interesting suggestion. definitely doable, but I'll have to see how that affects the points and confer with the cabal...
@razorwise -- knowledge history vs common knowledge. also a good suggestion; I supposes its a question of setting vs. playability. it history a real benefit? not as much as common knowledge bonus; actually i think this works quite well. Trolls in our view are "people of the land" they kinda know a little of everything, and being such a talkative races, tend to know everyone. They are also a huge rumor mill as a result - that's something we are planning on using for the "starter" adventure after the Gazzeteer is done. I think I'll take your suggestion and make the changes right away. THANK YOU! _________________ -----
