Thanks to RockabillyRebel posting a 60’s hotrod and Green Tongue who made the ridicules comment that I would want to make a Grease Setting with Olivia Newton John (ewwww she was like 40 playing a HS girl DON’T WANT) I have been thinking about Hot rods and Pony tails and Poodle skirts and 50’s cheer leaders who’s letterman sweater letter turns into a ninja throwing letter I came up with this idea
Arcane High
The Rule Book Setting pdf should be like a School Orientation booklet
Welcome to Arcadia High School. Established in 1866 and located in upstate New York in the quaint secluded town of Arcadia on the Hudson We pride ourselves on having built a facility best suited to the educational needs of children with special abilities like you. Our student body is a diverse cross section of children with special gifts not just from the United States we also have a exchange students from many nations and scholarships.
Most of our graduating students have gone on to promising carriers serving the public with such government organizations such as The Agency and OSI
Of course the kids call Arcadia High Arcane High
This would take place in 1955 as a cross between Hero High, Harry Potter, All the X titles and stories focus on the school, Buffy and Happy days.
The students have a normal curriculum and then are trained to use their powers. Of course the school various benefactors have there own reasons for helping. Some want to recruit the kids for the military or other agencies, some want to recruit them into criminal gangs and some just want to teach the kids to be the best they can be.
make a teen aged PC themed on an Arcane Background fromSW:EX, Fant, Deadlands, Weird Wars and Deadlands: Hell on Earth any other that can be squashed into the same world. The main restriction is it has to be AB some one could be born with so no Cyborgs (unless you write a way cool back story about the PC birth defect, injury or accident that caused them to be come a cyborg)
We can assume some of the mutations from HOE can happen on a case by case basis if children were exposed to Ghost rock radiation in the womb
Weird Science should be focuses on Hot rods
Home Economics and Cooking Mrs Devlin
PE Couch Grundy (his wife runs the Special Daycare down the street)
Like the D20 tattooed Monk with tattoos that leap off the body, Poodle skirts can be made ware the animals leap off and produce a spell effect (Arcane Stitchery)
No one wants to take Janey Harrow to the Prom because she smells of death (I’m so embarrassed I want to Die…. Again)
Old Chinese Lunch Lady who is a Wuxster and tosses Majong Tiles
Be Inspired by a storn image of the cover girl (if I could pay for cover art to a PDF I’ll never make)
Tired You Discuss

Take it out for a spin kick the tires and see how it prints and fits on the battle mat
I did mention cars are a big part of Arcane high?
The Greaser gangs the Omega Knights and Queens of the Road are always wanting to beat the kids of Arcadia High School and their weird science enhanced hotrods
This is just a testicle set
I’m using old automobile advertisements, as they are already limited color and so old no one will sue me
Straight on side shorts are rare. Front shots are rare’er
If you know of an old Auto graphic art web site other than
http://oldcarandtruckads.com/
Let me know
In the finished sets I’ll try and ID the car Year and Make and Model (on a lot of these images that info is tiny/blurry)
Doh I forgot to make one for the Wendigo Moterhome
When you got to go… go with Wendigo

She was 28 playing an 18 year-old (which isn't abnormal for Hollywood). |

Not sure what word you are funning with. I'm a horrible speller to being with and then I’m always typing late at night when I’m tired and then I have loss some feeling and function in my left hand.

I do believe it is the title of the book she is holding.
"Calculas" as opposed to "Calculus".

That's it. My apologies for not being clear, I wasn't pointing at your spelling.
Perhaps I'm picking at nits but misspelling the textbook title kind of kills the 'school teacher' theme for me...except possibly as a spoof. Otherwise it's a great picture. |

Here is my guy I threw together (I love Metacreator)
Marcus "Smooch" Samucci
Attributes: Agility d6, Smarts d6, Spirit d6, Strength d6, Vigor d6
Skills: Repair d6, Notice d8, Riding d8, Persuasion d6, Streetwise d6, Intimidation d4
Charisma 0, Pace 6, Parry 2, Toughness 5, Power Points 10, CV 46
Hindrances: Enemy: The Shadows, Phobia: Enclosed Spaces, Loyal: Friends.
Edges: Arcane Background (Weird Science), McGyver.
Powers: Speed.
Gear: Harley Blockhead (customized Panhead). Leather Jacket (Magical), Mini Toolkit
Marcus was a kid who didn’t fit in. When his father was killed during the Korean War, he felt alone. Then one night, came to his house. His mother got him up and threw him in a closet, and told him not to make a sound. He heard them talking to his mother, then the voices got angrier and…inhuman. He ran away to the streets of New York. While there he hooked up with a street gang, known as the Shadows. They called him “The Smooch” and protected him for awhile. But he had to betray them to save the life of Mrs. Devlin of Arcadia High. As a token of her thanks, she requested to the staff the Smooch, be enrolled in Arcane High. |

This is very cool. The 1950's are a fascinating decade that is often overshadowed by the war in the 40's and the counter-culture/Vietnam/civil rights movements in the 60's.
But you've got the hardcore Red Scare stuff, Sputnik, the American obsession with living the myth of the "American dream", and being "normal".
There's a lot of really intense background stuff that you can juxtapose against the silliness of Greasers-vs-Jocks, racing for pink slips, and so on.
Nice stuff. _________________ www.ATOMIC-ROBO.com |

I was researching for this project and googled Arcadia and damn it the founders of Arcadia New York stole my idea for a town name and sent it back in time to 1825
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arcadia,_New_York
But look
An asylum for the mentally retarded was established in Arcadia in 1789.
In 1957, the Bergen Swamp Preservation Society acquired Zurich Bog for conservation
An Asylum and a bog that is a win win for any game setting _________________ http://s61.photobucket.com/albums/h51/Vondan/ |

"Manitou Barbie"
This could work with my B-Movie extravaganza, "Curse of the Rock Lobster". I only did it because I had some toy crab replicas that were waiting for an adventure.
I picked up the Crabs at Michael's... Uh... wait... _________________ I've often speculated why you don't return to America. Did you abscond with the church funds? Run off with a senator's wife? I like to think you killed a man. It's the Romantic in me. |

No, these were bigger. They're perfect for use as giant, mutated monsters menacing figure-flat teens on the table-top.
OK, here they are... Safari Jumbo Collection. _________________ I've often speculated why you don't return to America. Did you abscond with the church funds? Run off with a senator's wife? I like to think you killed a man. It's the Romantic in me. |
