Not sure exactly where this topic/question should go, but I'll try here. I attempted to search for this topic, but could not find it. If someone could point me in the right direction that would be great.

I am curious about called shots on vehicles. Is it possible? Can one shoot out a tire without having to get lucky on the Vehicle Critical Hit Table? Or must everything be resolved using that table regardless of intent. Shooting in the general direction of the vehicle and if it is good enough causing a Crit you get a chance at hitting a tire?

A homebrew rule I've used in the past relies on Called Shots. The modifier varies depending on the vehicle you're aiming at and the component. If you deal a wound, then the Critical Hit automatically applies to the component you aimed for.

ok thanks Wiggy.... I was leaning in that direction, but wasn't entirely sure. Just curious what type of penalty would you give a shooter aiming at a tire... Let's say it's the passenger aiming at the car's front tire where speed isn't a factor since they are traveling at the same speed.

-2 for unstable platform
-2 for size of the wheel
any other modifiers come to mind?

Only range, but that might not be an issue.

I'd just use the standard Called Shot modifiers as a reference.

Want to hit a fairly good sized but non-armored location (like an open tire well): -2
Want to hit something vital (+4 damage): -4
Want to hit something vital and unarmored: -6
