Here is a list of 50 fathoms loot that affects your characters status I made up. Then I realized it could be generalized to be applicable to any setting. These are rewards/loot for completing various quests and they may NOT be bought with level ups and can only be gained by beating there specific quest.

True Respect
Requirement:Complete world changing epic quest.
Effect: You are known and respected by all. You get a permanent +1 bonus to persuasion, streetwise, taunt, and intimidate. This stacks with any other modifiers as normal.

Notes:After beating the sea hags I figured the heroes would be known and respected by all, whether that respect is from love or fear. I know it seems kind of powerful but the players have to go through hell to get it IF they survive.

Money Lender's Favor
Requirement:Perform a quest that helps a moneylender greatly such as rescue his/her child, save his/her life, etc.
Effect:The money lender loans you more then he/she normally would and is flexible when you pay it back or let you do other jobs to erase your debt. This is meant for plot hooks but can be used mechanically like the connections edge with the money lender.

Notes: I gave this edge to the heroes after they saved a scrullian money lender. They were always strapped for cash due to carousing and frequently borrowed money and did 'jobs' to pay him back. This reward could easily be changed to Banker's favor, shop keeper's favor etc.

Instant Nobility
Requirement:Perform a great service to a ruler. May not have the noble edge already. Restricted by GM.
Effect:The ruler awards you the title of nobility and functions just like the noble background edge with all it's benefits and drawbacks.

Notes:In a 50F session The Kerian emperor awarded this to a native Masquanni hero after a quest then turned around and dragged him into another one.

Neat, this can really serve as a nice way of shoehorning otherwise RP-related effects into a game mechanic that your players can remember. I might give 'em a try.

Intangable rewards are pretty much the best kind IMO. Really, no one will remember that +1 sword they had or the 1000 gold they got. I'm definately stealing this idea (with your permission) and adding it to my own.
