Wonderland No More: Egg of Seven Parts

It's time for an egg hunt, Wonderland style!

Welcome to Wonderland. You, the heroes, have to stand in for all the King's Horses and Men, on a quest to put Humpty Dumpty back together again. You'll get to explore the width and breadth of Wonderland, from the Chessboard Fields to the Monarchy of Hearts, as you seek out the missing pieces of Humpty.

Prepare to face off against the likes of slithy toves and homicidal packs of Cards, to dodge the fearsome Jabberwock's offspring and their jaws that bite and claws that catch and to explore a fantasy world where Wonderland has gone wrong.

Triple Ace Games proudly presents a fantastic journey into the world of Alice. Egg of Seven Parts is an entire campaign which takes your heroes into Wonderland No More.

Feel free to spread the word around various Alice-related sites too - there's a lot more that could be published for this, depending on sales.

Is it the whole rules and everything for Wonderland No More or do I need anything else (apart from the core rules?)

Egg of Seven Parts includes some of the background and rules from the Wonderland No More setting. Enough to run the campaign with the flavor of Wonderland.

Rules are included to create Wonderland heroes such as Cards, Chesspieces, Animals (anthropomorphic animals), Plants (anthropomorphic plants) and Tweedle.

A few Edges are included - mainly those for a lowly Pawn Chesspiece to become a Bishop which ties in with one of the pregenerated characters available for download.

Although mention is made of Gourmancy (one of the Arcane Background in Wonderland No More) it is treated as the AB: Sorcery from the main rules.

More AB:Saucery A subset of Gourmancy, dealing particularly with liquids ... or not, as the case may be ...

There are quite a few credits in Egg of Seven Parts but I realised today there are a couple of people who hang out here that I didn't mention. So...

Thanks to Shane who originally suggested that I let Pinnacle take a look at my Savage Wonderland stuff - if not for him I would probably not have attempted to get it published.

Also thanks to Clint who helped a lot in balancing the racial edges and hindrances.

American McGee's Alice is one of my favourite computer games. I really like the idea of a dark and sinister version of Wonderland. I think I'll have to check out Wonderland No More, maybe come up with a campaign based on AM's Alice.

There was a conscious design choice with WNM to base it on the logical extension of the actual Lewis Carroll works, rather than the macabre AM version, and we I think are united in our conviction that the Disney version needs to be beaten off with sticks, preferably sharp ones.

Are there plans to release the entire Wonderland No More setting anytime?

My partner got me American McGee's Alice for Christmas the year I started on Wonderland No More. I deliberately held off playing it for about 6 months as I did not want to plagiarize it. Later I played it right through actually contacted American McGee to see if I could use some of the weapons from the PC game in Wonderland No More. McGee replied that Electronic Arts own the rights to American McGee's Alice. I contacted EA and they refused any use of the concepts or ideas.

So Wonderland No More has nothing from McGee's Alice in it although there may be the odd (unintentional) similarity.

There is a full setting, including Plot Point campaign and Savage Tales, written. It needs a thorough review now that Egg of Seven Parts is completed and editing. But yes there are plans to release it at some point.

In the mean time there is another mini-campaign and several "One Sheet" style adventures available on my Wonderland No More website

Glad to see Wonderland No More get the "official" treatment. It's really a cool and fun setting either way, the "official" stamp just makes it even more so.

Yes indeed, and as editor/playtestor, let me attest to the coolness of the rest of the setting and the plot point campaign.

One thing I like about the WNM setting is that there's a lot of flexibility for HOW it can be used. Is Wonderland real or just a dream? Or, for that matter, a "virtual reality," or a "shared reality"? Or just a silly fantasy world with only coincidental similarities to mid-19th-century England here and there? Or a dark nightmare invented by someone who's locked up in an asylum?

It could be played as silly and relatively lighthearted, or as horror with a dash of gallows humor, all with just a little tweaking and a different emphasis in presentation.

Oh yeah, and I made a whole batch o' "plunder cards" for WNM as potential player handouts, complete with original full-color art, based on some of the more peculiar items to be found in the Wonderland world.

My whole family are excited about this prospect! Can you give us any vague ideas as to when it might be available? Are TAG as tight-lipped with possible release dates as Pinnacle?? And is it likely to be a physical book or a PDF?

Looks like a wonderful, wonderful thing, based on what I've seen of it so far.

We remain tight-lipped Smile For physical books we don't even mention their existence until they are in the hands of Studio 2 (i.e. ready to print). PDF projects may be spoken about in advance, as there is less to go wrong in the schedule.

Thanks for the kind words.

Wiggy is correct about the tight lipped approach, it really is the best way.

Egg of Seven Parts and The Crown of Alice should give you a game that will run for quite a few sessions though Razz

BTW sorry for not replying sooner, I've spent most of the last 4 days in bed trying to shake a Christmas chest infection!

Any similarities are probably coincidental, as I at least am not familiar with the other work.
