I don't know...the front guy looks suspiciously like Cobra Commander.

I am going to smack you in the back of the head. Twisted Evil

The face plate was actually an artisitic decision for the Graphic Novels, when we first design him in 2003. Allows us to use reflection to good effect, like Xomebehemoth in the DoL cover (and even description in the novel).

Oh don't take it hard.

I actually like it a great deal.

Though now I can't NOT see Cobra Commander.

#gunbattle

Just kidding.

Silver Belle comes off well during this.

Oh, I'm not taking it hard. I was joking with him in the first comment (thus the evil grin), and just explained why in the second. Trust me . . . heard that before anyway. Wink

My son almost got thrown from a moving car when we got our first Comp copies of the printed AACS, and he goes: What page is Iron Man on?

Surprised

I slammed on the brakes.

WHAT!??!

[Expression of a deer caught in the hi-beams]

I mean Vanguardian. Vanguardian!

Boy . . . I swear to God . . .

Mr. Green

One of my players has an armored character with a similar faceplate on his helmet. He used it for "Randy's only defense" (If you've seen "A Christmas Story", you know what I mean Wink ).

A powerful sorcerer from ancient Egypt had found his way to the present and the team were battling him in the tomb from which he had awakened. The armored hero got hit hard, slammed into a wall and then fell to the ground. Rather than getting up, he lay there and didn't move. Because he had that mirrored visor, the bad guy couldn't see his eyes and assumed he was unconscious or dead, allowing the hero to get a sneak attack from behind.

Anyway, that became known as "Randy's Only Defense" in our game. So that's one more thing Vanguardian has over everyone else. Mr. Green

Read the novel?

That poor guy needs all the advantages he can muster!

(By the way, I'm going to have Butch Mapa redo that cover as well)

That was the old Arbor Productions.

Just to put a positive note on the cover...

I love the reflection in the mirrored face mask. That's a nice cover detail.

Thank you.

We are very proud of the cover. Mr. Green

If you look closely, you'll see one of the statues for Arbor Square in the lower left.

The linking bridges in the background, right.

The edge of Solitaire Island (home to the Solitaire Island Federal Prison . . . for Neos) in the upper left.

Docks for Beauman Straights . . .

Butch did a hell of a job putting landmarks from the book/setting in there.

It also shows the sense of Heroic action, without being boggled down.

Meh.

Vanguardian's major problems come from the fact that he's unwilling to ask his company if he can tell his wife he's the Vanguardian and the fact he lies like a fish as a result of his deception. That and he's Clark Kent pretending to be Superman rather than the reverse.

All of which ultimately results from the fact that his wife, Tori, is a bitch.

Not surprising since a bit of her is modeled off my ex. Wink

Hehehe.

I love that it's not domestic unhappiness due to mind control or his being totally unreasonable.

You wait until his divorce and things begin between him and Karen (aka Maiden America).

As far as personal life, Dominick is a bit of an idiot. But, he's also only human. Cool
