| I really think you should put a link to the issue in the blog post announcing it... |

Done!
Since the issue is split into a GM section and Player section, I linked to the Downloads page rather than the issue itself. However, I also changed some names last night so you can actually tell what you're downloading (amazing, I know). _________________ Matthew Cutter

Are those file in the website "finished", or they are "works in progress"??

Good to see the tradition continue.

Great stuff. Is the next issue going to have a particular theme and what's the deadline? _________________ The rabbit is cuddly. Kids like little cuddly sidekicks. I mean... The rabbit... It's a time-tested... Okay, the rabbit bites.

Lord Lance,
These are the files Cutter mentioned renaming for clarity. _________________ Roll For News a podcast about what's new and noteworthy in Tabletop RPGs |

They're finished. What is NOT there are the Ravenspeak maps, which will be a separate download. I need to make sure I have them all before bundling and posting. _________________ Lord Inar

Glad you asked! I didn't put a little "next issue" blurb in there.
Next issue will be "weird" settings, i.e. setting that don't fit into neatly defined genres. I'm thinking Low Life and Rune Punk as examples.
The deadline will be mid-January to give a little time off for the holiday season.

Marc,
The new issue looks good! Be sure to shoot me a deadline along with wants/needs and we'll include some RunePunk goodness in the mix.
Take care,

Any chance we'll be getting a Pirates issue soon? (or maybe a Pirates Shark Nibble?). That'd be cool! I might even be tempted to try to contribute

OK, the next two in the queue after the "weird" settings issue are an "Earth-based historical" which would cover Solomon Kane, Pirates and maybe Rippers, and after that a Sci-Fi issue, with Slipstream and Necropolis being the two main settings to showcase.
My two main reasons for waiting on the sci-fi issue are that I've wanted to cover SK and Pirates for a while now, and also, it takes a little while for enough contributions to come in when a new book (e.g. Slipstream) comes out.
This might contradict what I had written before, but this is my latest vision.
After that, anything goes, as I will have covered most of the big genres.
In all these of course, contributions are key! I would like enough to keep separate Player's and GM sections and have them feel substantial.
Anyway, I'm glad there is still such interest in keeping Shark Bytes somewhat "theme-based"

Only had a chance to skim it so far, but it looks like another great issue. I love articles that take historical/real world facts and apply them to role-playing so the article an tactics in Vietnam caught my interest. The Showdown scenarios look like a lot of fun, too.
The theme issues seem to be working well. I was worried it might be limiting, but with themes like the current modern/horror and the upcoming historical and science-fiction themes, there is still room for a lot of variety.
Keep up the good work. |
