Nope. An open setting for you to use and abuse as you desire. We'll be supporting it with small adventures at first, and leading up to grander tales similar in scope to the WotC Expedition series.

Just to note, the Player's Guide is literally what it says--everything you need to build a character (or NPCs). It also includes the setting rules. The world was simply too big to fit into one book. Even by reducing the font size, the complete setting material still weighs in at nearly 400 pages in total.

Even if you don't want to play in the setting, we think you'll find the book useful for creating your own fantasy worlds. It isn't a toolkit--it's setting specific information--but the new material is usable in any fantasy game with only minor tweaks.

For instance, there's a Power Point-less magic system (not the same as the one in Kane), a detailed list of gods, new spells, a plethora of new Edges (including Disciple Edges for priestly sorts), and a Glory system which allows you to pick the rewards, so you can tailor them to the sort of hero you're playing.

Nice, but the embedded movie doesn't seem to work with my Mac (no plugin available, as stated on the Adobe site).

Will it really take advantage of the cold aspect of the setting. If so, it sounds pretty nice (Frost and Fur & Frostburn being two of my favorite d20 books)

I certainly hope it will. The images in Frostburn gave me the initial impetus to write the setting Smile I'm a huge fan of winter.

So that's why it was taking seeming forever for my dial-up to download it (before I eventually gave up).

I'm hoping this stuff would make for a great Rjurik based Birthright campaign, or maybe one in northern Golarion in the Realm of the Mammoth Lords.

Hell, a Cimmerian campaign would even be something to look into with this book.

Now, to find some money.....

Sounds promising. Always been a fan of "northern" fantasy settings, looking forward to it's release.
