Greetings folks!
The poll pretty much says it all. Would Savage Fans like to see Player Guides for Autumn Arbor and Hardboiled in addition to the plot-point campaign books?
Of course, unlike the full versions of the settings, these would be PDF exclusive products.

Yes. Players guides would be very useful and welcome! _________________ "Good people are good because they've come to wisdom through failure."

As with most things, the more options available out there for gamers is a good thing.
That said, I qualify my vote by saying if it comes down to a priority of effort, I'd rather see both products out the door and on the street before you expend your resources making the player guides.
I'm excited to dig in to both products you have in development, and if that means I have to put together supplements for players while awaiting offical products, I think the cost is well worth it.
My 2 cents. |

Also, a printer-friendly version of both should be included.
And if you lock your PDFs, I highly recommend thoroughly bookmarking them for easy reference.
The latter request is a deal-breaker for guys like me. _________________ Ron Blessing

I don't see any reason to not have a player's guide. Given that to make one it seems all one has to do is cut out the plot point scenarios, apologies if I'm mistaken of course.
But yes, a print friendly version is something that is very useful for the PDF crowd(no backgrounds, no pictures, 'just the facts ma'am'). _________________ Maniacal Laughter |

You are correct, the Players Guide is just the setting info and plot-point excluded. It usually contains the character creation summary, edges and hinderances for the setting, new powers (if any), new rules (if any), and equipment.
Makes it easy for a group to create characters without needing multiple copies of the full book.
As for Printer Friendly version, already ahead of you. Don't know if Dave Anderson locks the PDFs or not (I'll have to ask him), but he PDF bookmarks as well as Table of Contents bookmarks them.
Basically, my view is like this: Savage Fans (myself included) are used to books being done a certain way: Plot-Points, player guides, and printer-friendly versions being the top three. Why change that? _________________ Lee F. Szczepanik, Jr.

Players guides are great and very important to explain the differences between the base rules and the setting rules. I would request that things the characters, and thus the players, should not really be fully conversent with not be in the guide. Common knowledge things are great though! _________________ The More I Learn, The Less I Know |

Printable Player's Guides are an essential part of what makes Savage Worlds stand out from all the rest. They are an essential tool that reduces the cost of running a campaign and increases the convenience exponentially.
D&D players need, at minimum, a $35 PHB(and another $35 if they want to play a gnome, half-orc, bard, or barbarian in a year). SW players need a $10 SWEX and a copy of the Player's Guide for a particular setting (they can pay the GM back for printing costs, and Staples can get you a nice printed and bound book for cheap).

I agree. That, plus a few other standards, is what attracted me to Savage Worlds as both a GM/Player and businessman.
