I had just a general quick question about power points. What is the cap to the points? Are the points constantly generating? Does the character need to be awake for the points to generate or be asleep? I am wondering because I am going to run a Deadlands game and my players are a bunch of power gamers and I am wondering if I am going to need to make up a house rule to deal with that.

Characters can only take the Power Points Edge once per Rank. Since there are 5 Ranks in SW, that means the most they can add to their starting PP total is 25, and that would be after they are Legendary Rank.

Now, the setting or GM might have other effects that could provide PPs in a game (a relic that gave the character +5 PPs for example), and there might be races that could start with a higher base total, but as far as standard character advancement goes, the above applies.

By the core rules, the points simply return after the set time increment. Makes it easier than keeping track of highly variable secondary conditions or qualifiers on the time passed.

To specify, this isn't any different for Deadlands: Reloaded (though there are other alterations to recovering PPs for some ABs in the setting).
